What's Going On?

Through newspaper research, students will be able to locate, interpret and associate science information currently happening in the world. By means of a News Team format, student will prepare and design a 3 to 5 minute News Broadcast on the scale of a News Team we view on television.

Newspaper reading is vital because it is written in a COLUMN format. Research findings state that column reading increases a person's speed and comprehension 40% to 60%. That is why many of our new textbooks are written in column format.

The computer teachers will teach the students how to change the internet-gathered single lines into a 2-column format.

This assignment will enhance the student research, reading, comprehension, computer skills, presentation and creative skills.

1. Highlight all your text (control+A [PC] or command+A [PC])
2. Choose the COLUMN button and click on it and choose TWO (2) columns
3. Your text should now change to two columns.
