Learning Targets for ancient Egypt Unit:

Students will be able to:

1) demonstrate comprehension of vocabulary;

2) apply the concept of chronological order;

3) analyze the geographic features and the affects on people lives;

4) analyze daily life; and

5) synthesize data on mummification, pyramids, government, and religion.

 

Directions:  Follow the instructions, time table, checklist, and rubric to complete the Egyptian Times newspaper.

 

 

 

Instructions

Step 1:  Use the Ō10 Easy Steps to Create a TimelineĶ to make a rough draft of

the timeline for the FRONT PAGE.

 

Step 2: Write a rough draft on geography for the FRONT PAGE.

 

Step 3: Write a rough draft FEATURED ARTICLE for PAGE 2.

 

Step 4:  Write 3 rough drafts on DAILY LIFE for PAGE 3.

 

Step 5: Peer Conference on ALL rough drafts for proper format, grammar, etc.

 

Step 6: Check that all mandatory vocabulary terms are used.

 

Step 7: Type all articles on the computer

 

Step 8: Add all pictures to the articles.

 

Step 9: Create the timeline on the computer for the FRONT PAGE.

 

Step 10: Find or create the map for the FRONT PAGE.

 

Step 11:  Double-check by using the checklist for submitting.
