Dear Brooklawn Families,

As our children enter another school year, we would like to remind you of all the events

our PTSA sponsors as well as invite you to become participants in our partnership with Brooklawn's administration and teachers in the education of our children.   Whether this is your first year at Brooklawn, last or somewhere in between it is important to understand the various opportunities the PTSA provides to support our students and school as well as opportunities for parent involvement.

The PTSA supports many events throughout the year. During the fall and spring we offer Brooklawn's students and staff the opportunity to purchase books at our book fair. In the winter we sponsor a variety show so that our students may showcase their talents.   We also lend our support to cultural arts programs and scholarships as well as activities run by Mr. Miller and the Student Council.

Our major fundraiser, "Brooklawn Gold Cards" will start in the fall.   These cards offer discounts at local merchants and eateries and can be used all year.   This year we have redesigned our card to include new neighboring retailers.   Please make sure that you participate in this fundraiser.   There isn't an easier way to save money while supporting our school.

Also in the fall the PTSA will sell our ever popular Brooklawn logo clothing as well as other items so your child may display school spirit.

As in the past the PTSA will provide every student with a homework planner at the beginning of the school year.   Be sure to check out this year's planner new size and design!

There are many ways you can support us in our efforts to continue the above activities. We hope that you become a member of Brooklawn's PTSA by purchasing a "Membership Card" at Back-to School Night September 16th. We encourage you to join us at our evening PTSA meetings in the Media Center.   Please check the website for dates.   In addition we ask that you consider becoming involved in one of our many committees.   Currently we are in need of someone to chair the Variety Show and Teacher Appreciation committees.   If you are interested, please let one of us know.

Together with the administration and teachers we can contribute to our children's success.
