Welcome to all
Brooklawn Students and Families!
The Brooklawn Middle School PTSA would like to welcome everyone to the 2011-2012 school year. We hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable summer. The BMS PTSA encourages all parents, guardians and students to join the PTSA this year and to attend our monthly meetings. The meeting dates are listed on the BMS website. Attending our monthly meetings will keep you informed and up-to-date on BMS events, student council activities, and fundraisers throughout the school year. It is also a great way to meet other parents/guardians of BMS students.
This year the PTSA will again be selling school spirit clothing items, backpacks and flash drives. You can purchase these items at Back to School Night or by printing out the order form on this site and returning it with your payment to the BMS PTSA. We are also selling BMS Gold cards which will be available for purchase at Back to School Night and throughout the school year. Committee members of the PTSA will also be organizing and running the Variety Show to be held later this year. This is a fun and enjoyable night and showcases the many talents of our BMS students. We would encourage everyone to attend.
We also will be having a Fall and Spring book fair at which the students, teachers and parents can purchase books. The PTSA receives a percentage of all sales, and that money is used to purchase new books for the library and other items for the school.
This year we will be having Brooklawn Knights Out. These are nights for families and students to go out for dinner, ice-cream, yogurt, etc. to a designated place and a percentage of all sales that evening will be donated to the PTSA. These events will be announced during the year as they are planned.
The money raised through our various fundraisers is used to purchase student planners for all students at BMS. It is also used to pay for Cultural Arts events, BIG night T-shirts, school beautification projects and other items as requested and voted upon throughout the year.
If you are interested in being more involved or wish to volunteer to help with any of the PTSA fundraisers or committees, please e-mail PTSA President Carol Begley at verb8m@optonline.net. Thank you for your anticipated support of the PTSA. Have a great year.
Carol Begley, PTSA President
