Teachers and students are looking forward to exploring interactive websites utilizing our new classroom projectors and white boards.
Mathematics:
Students are learning to divde both whole numbers and decimal numbers by two digits. Learning how to multiply fractions and measurement, statistics and probability are next.
Reading & Language Arts:
Students are applying the writing process to produce creative stories. They are being challenged by reading a variety of different genres in literature.
Science:
Students are learning about Electricity and Magnetism. They are participating in various hands-on activities to learn about properties of magnets, different forms of electrical energy and various types of electric circuits. Students will be able to apply the knowledge learned from this unit to real-life situations. Next unit is about body systems.
Social Studies:
Fifth graders have been introduced to the original thirteen colonies. They discovered what life was like for the people living there. We learned about the causes of the Revolutionary War. We are also beginning to learn about the Constitution.
Health:
Students are learning about mental, emotional, family, and social health in class. They are looking forward to having Officer Dan Conte conduct DARE lessons in the classroom.
