Principal's Message
Welcome to Mt. Tabor Elementary School!
On behalf of the staff of Mt. Tabor School, we hope you have a great school year! Our philosophy at Mt. Tabor revolves around a student-centered approach to learning, with a commitment to individual growth and a motivation to succeed. Our teachers work collaboratively to bring the best possible education to our students.
Parents, teachers and community members are all stakeholders in the education of our students, and we welcome the challenge of educating our students for a future we can only dream of. Our curriculum includes a high level of reading comprehension and skill development using technology-driven activities.
In a tiered-learning approach, students are challenged according to state standards and district initiatives. Our quest is to build layers of knowledge and skills while delivering an instructional program that prepares students for jobs that don’t exist today. The goal is to produce students who not only have a good base of core content knowledge, but also the creativity, social skills and ingenuity to succeed in life. These are our school goals.
We’ve committed to teaching Language Arts across the curriculum, as we have integrated speaking, listening skills, and writing into other subject areas. We’re continually building Mathematics skills through problem solving and critical thinking activities. Our Science curriculum is multi-faceted, utilizing hands-on activities and developing critical thought. We have an increasingly digital approach to teaching Social Studies as we use different geography tools on the web to bring students on virtual field trips.
I am personally excited to be part of the Mt. Tabor community. I’m proud of what our teachers do here, as they are the lifeblood of our school and the reason our students come back each day. I applaud their professionalism, integrity and creativity because they ensure our students have a great experience each and every day they are in our school.
One word about communication: if you see a problem, reach out to us. We want to know. Our first concern is our students’ physical and emotional safety. If you notice something is not right, let us help. We will do the same if we notice something. This two-way communication is essential to keeping our students safe and making our school an effective, creative and truly enthusiastic learning environment.
With help of parents, teachers and community members, we will together ensure a fantastic experience for our students and prepare them for what’s ahead.
As our motto says, Mt. Tabor is a place “where small feet make giant steps toward the future!”
Sincerely,

Mark Fasciana
