Cells Alive!   This award-winning site features color graphics, animated GIFs, and downloadable QuickTime video files. Information looks at the cytoskeleton of living cells; some of the complexities of the HIV virus; how bacteria multiply; the difference in size among virus, bacterium, and human cells; how penicillin kills bacteria; and other related topics on the study of cells.
The MIT Biology Hypertextbook   The Biology Hypertextbook has chapters on chemistry review, large molecules, cell biology, enzyme biochemistry, photosynthesis, Mendelian genetics, immunology, recombinant DNA, and prokaryotic genetics and gene expression. Words in chapters are hyperlinked to definitions, and sections are accompanied by graphics and diagrams.  Includes Syllabus | Practice Problems | Quizzes.
