MECHANICAL & ARCHITECTURAL
What is drafting?
Drafting is a form of communication that is technical
and very exact. Drafters the world over have agreed to the same lines
and symbols and the same method of drawing. For this reason, drafting
is called "the universal language of industry." Technical
drawings are used for communication in industry because they are the
clearest way to tell others what to make and how to make it.
Why is drafting important?
Without a command of the graphic language, engineers and designers
would find it nearly impossible to communicate their ideas effectively
to their team members. Technical drawing is one of the most important
courses for an engineer or design technology career.
