PATHWAYS TO BUSINESS
Grades 9-10

Computer technology and the internet will be used in this course which will introduce students to the world of business. Consumer rights and responsibilities, personal finances with career analysis, and decision-making will be integral parts of the course. Students will also learn how to become responsible and effective participants in today's fast-paced economy and will focus on the skills and content in the Cross Content Workplace Readiness Standards. 

BUSINESS COMPUTER APPLICATIONS
Grades 10-12

 Learn the computer applications that are an integral part of all occupations in business. Windows software will be used to create and edit spreadsheets, use presentation programs, create databases, and use advanced word processing features.

COMPUTERIZED KEYBOARDING AND WORD PROCESSING SKILLS
Grades 9-12

Learn the use of word processing software for correct keyboarding techniques and mastery of the keyboard. Create and format word processing documents such as letters, memos, and reports. Learn to move, copy, merge, and use the keypad for both personal, school, and job-related functions.

DESKTOP PUBLISHING
Grades 10-12

Learn the skills and concepts necessary to design and produce professional-looking publications. Create documents including flyers, newsletters and brochures. Use scanners and digital cameras to learn Web Page Design processing features.

ACCOUNTING 1
Grades 10-12

Learn the basic principles and concepts of accounting and be able to balance a checkbook, set up records for a business and gain the necessary background for advanced study of accounting. Automated accounting activities will take place in the Business Education Computer Lab. County College of Morris credit may be awarded. 

KEYBOARDING CE
Grades 9-12

This course provides mastery of the keyboard and word processing documents such as letters, reports, memos, and tables for students with English as a second language and students who require individualized education planning.

HONORS COLLEGE PREP ACCOUNTING 
Grades 11-12

Honors CPA is an accelerated accounting course intended for students who plan to continue their education in the area of accounting or business administration. A college level text, and accounting software are used in the Business Education Computer Lab. County College of Morris credit may be awarded.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATION 
AND MANAGEMENT 
Grades 10-12

This course is a must for all students who plan on a business major in college. Some topics that will be covered are various economic systems, business ownership and management, stock market, advertising and marketing, international business trade, credit, and insurance. Students will analyze case studies and work with a business simulation. 

LAW
Grades 11-12

This valuable course will introduce students to basic legal principles, terms, and issues that will pertain to individuals now, as young adults, and in their future.

MARKETING, ADVERTISING, AND SALES
Grades 11-12

This course is designed for students who are considering further education in marketing, advertising, or business management. It will acquaint students with a basic understanding of marketing and sales promotion. Major emphasis is placed on advertising because of the effect and/or control it has on many aspects of daily lives, values, and spending habits.

COOPERATIVE BUSINESS EDUCATION
Grades 11-12

Cooperative Business Education is an internship in a carefully monitored on-site work experience. This program combines school-based learning and work based learning. Job techniques, human relations skills, and career development are emphaized. All students must be employed within office-related settings. 3 credits.

Cooperative Marketing Education is a program that combines school-based learning and work-based learning. Job-seeking techniques, as well as career development, are emphasized. All students must be employed in an approved job site in the related field of marketing. 3 credits
