Sophomores

1. Continue to monitor your grades and make sure you are being as successful as you can. Go to your teachers for extra help. Sign up for a member of the National Honor Society to tutor you. We want you to have as many opportunities available to you when you are a senior and are considering post secondary options.

2. Get involved! Join a club, sport, or do some volunteer work. It's a great way to meet new people and learn new skills.

3. Use computer program Naviance to determine your interests and help you to make some goals.

4. Review your four year high school plan to determine that you have selected the most appropriate classes for you.
   
   
5. Please make sure you have an “appropriate” e-mail address to send to colleges and other academic programs.
   
   
6. Consider getting a summer job in the field you may be interested in. This will help you to determine your level of interest and if this career is a possibility for you.

Organization Tips:

• Keep track of assignments in a notebook.
• Don't put off working on assignments…start reports and projects early.
• Have a specific place to study away from distractions.
• Organize your books and papers in a folder or notebook.
• Keep your bookbag by the door so you don't have to run around in the morning trying to find it.
