Rockaway Meadow Parking Lot Procedures

before and after school

GENERAL GUIDELINES

• Be Patient. There are children walking in the parking lot.
• Drive slowly. Observe a 5 mph speed limit. If you are driving faster than you would drive over a speed bump then you are driving too fast. SLOW DOWN.
• Make sure the car is stopped before students open the doors.
• Make sure the children are safely on the sidewalk before you drive away.
• Please respect the children on the SAFETY PATROL. They are children.
• Please respect the adults on duty. They are people. 

STUDENT DROP OFF

• Follow the red arrow route. One way traffic in and out of the parking lot. Students may be dropped off by the fifth grade doors or at the curb in front of the parking lot (see yellow lines)
• Exit through the front parking lot.
• DO NOT drop students off at the end of the front parking lot, near the primary black top. This is very dangerous because of the traffic pattern.
• If you need to park and walk your youngster to the door, park in a legal parking place.
• Be extra patient and extra cautious on rainy days.

STUDENT PICK UP

• There are not enough parking spaces for every parent. This is a given. You must be patient.
• Park out of the flow of traffic when picking up your child.
• Please walk your children from the school to your parked car.
• If you do not park, you must not block the flow of traffic.
• There is on the street parking on Winfield Drive. There are two paths from our school to Winfield Drive . This is a great non congested location to meet your older youngsters.
