Excerpt from a memo from Ray Wiss, President, New Jersey School Board Association: This year, the New Jersey School Boards Association will lead an innovative online campaign to increase voter awareness of the April 27 Annual School Election. We invite you to participate in this exciting effort to increase voter participation. It will focus on the importance of the election, the factors to consider when acting on the proposed school budget, the role of the local school board in the education system, and accurate and balanced information about the performance of our state’s public schools.

At the center of our campaign is a special website, www.voteapril27.com.  The site contains information about the campaign’s mission, links to voter registration materials, and special messages for voters, parents, senior citizens and college students.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education encourages you to get involved.  Please visit Vote April 27 and the district website for updates.

2011-2012 Budget Approved By Executive County Superintendent
March 24, 2011

Today the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District readopted the district’s 2011-2012 budget as directed by the Executive County Superintendent (ECS), Dr. Serafino. Upon receipt of the District’s 2011-2012 budget adoption resolution, Dr. Serafino immediately issued a letter of approval that stated “…It was evident that the budget reflects careful consideration of the administration and the board. The district’s educational program was preserved and the tax levy increase was minimal.” and “The budget is approved for advertising.”

Update 3-25-11: Due to a directive from the Executive County Superintendent, Dr. Serafino, the 2011-2012 budget was reduced by $2,462 and, again, approved by Dr. Serafino.

GREAT FINANCIAL NEWS!

Standard & Poor's has recently conducted a review of the district’s financial standing especially in light of the District’s substantial loss of state aid in the past two years. We are happy to announce that Standard and Poor’s has reaffirmed the District’s “AA” rating with a stable financial outlook. This “AA” rating is the highest rating that a school district can receive.
