School counseling is a comprehensive, developmental,
program. Counselors, assigned to students alphabetically, confer with
their students regularly throughout their years at Parsippany Hills.
A formal curriculum has been developed, prescribing three counseling
sessions each year. In addition, students are seen upon request and
for immediate crisis intervention when necessary. Counselees are given
direction to proper decision-making skills as they address personal,
academic, vocational, and career goals. Group counseling programs are
prescribed when specific needs arise.
The Career Resource Center, staffed with full-time personnel, provides
an extensive collection of material on colleges, careers, job opportunities,
military, financial aid, scholarships, open houses, etc. Here students
will also find a computer lab capable of providing them with in-depth
career information and strategies for post-graduation planning. Also,
during the year, representatives from schools, colleges, universities,
and the military services visit the school and speak with interested
students. These meetings are available to any student upon request. |
