New Immunization Law
New immunization legal requirements were adopted by the NJ Department of Health in December, 2007. These requirements will be put into effect for the September 2008 school year. Parents will be required to provide proof that their child has met the following immunization requirements:
Children born on or after January 1, 1997 and entering Grade 6 must receive one booster dose of tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap) vaccine and one dose of meningococcal vaccine.
Children who are 2 to 59 months of age must receive pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.
Children who are 6 to 59 months of age must receive one annual dose of influenza vaccine by December 31 of each year.
