NSO (New Staff Orientation) begins for Parsippany-Troy Hills

Parsippany-Troy Hills Administrators greeted our new staff as they began their orientation for the 2019-2020 school year. The feeling of excitement, anticipation and nervous trepidation filled the Media Center at Parsippany High School. The first few weeks of school can be overwhelming which is why our NSO workshops, designed by our Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Administrators and Supervisors, are developed to help guide new staff members through the challenges they will face with academics, effective instruction, use of technology, evaluations, Board Policies, and communication between staff, students, and parents.

The new teachers start the day by getting their laptops so they are ready with the technology and tools they need to begin a successful year in Parsippany. They learn how to design lessons to reach mastery, how to transform their classrooms into productive learning environments, learn helpful classroom management tips, and build on positive expectations to help our students be successful. They began their workshops with Eye on Instruction, Marshall Evaluation Plan, Professional Responsibilities, Classroom Management, Monitoring Assessment, Family and Community Outreach, Business Office procedures, /Social and Emotional Learning, Technology, Genesis, and Human Resources overviews, just to name a few.

Our new teachers are invigorated and ready to start the new year!
