About Our Programs
We operate two camps during the summer months: Wide World of Summer (WWS) and Wide World of Summer Plus Program (WWS Plus). Both camps provide amazing opportunities for your child to enjoy the summer while learning new things and meeting new people. Please browse through our catalogs below and email the PACE Office if you have any questions.
Wide World of Summer (WWS) - 2025
Wide World of Summer is a recreational camp combined with an enrichment program that provides activities, special opportunities, and field trips for children in grades 1-8 for 7 weeks during the summer months. This camp is held at Central Middle School. The catalog below will provide you with details about our specialty classes, our facilities, our field trips and much much more.
PLUS Program - 2025 - EXCITING NEW PROGRAM DESIGN
Our Plus Program is a special half day camp for 3 weeks in July which combines traditional camp activities with academic support for students going into 1st through 5th grade. Campers will rotate through 5 classes during the day. This year, our classes include Literacy, Stem, Music, Physical Education and Art. Each week will have its own theme so you can sign your child up for 1 week or all 3 weeks - whatever works best for your family.
The PLUS Program camp is separate from the main WWS camp and operates out of Parsippany High School. If you are participating in WWS, you can also sign up for the PLUS program, however, transportation to and from the camp is the responsibility of the family.
Registration is open now and enrollment is very limited and ends on Friday, May 30th. When enrolling your child, please select the grade they will be going into in the fall of 2025.
The catalog below will provide you with additional details about this unique and fun summertime opportunity for your child.
Counselor in Training Program - Summer 2025
Wide World of Summer Camp offers a Counselor in Training Program for 9th and 10th graders. This program gives select students the opportunity to work as part of our WWS team under the direct supervision of our camp staff. The goal of this program is to provide quality training for students who have a serious interest in working with children, while still benefiting from the fun and exciting activities that our camp has to offer.
As a Counselor in Training (CIT), your child will be placed in a structured program that blends counselor duties and camper activities. They will receive on-the-job training, while learning the proper supervision of and interaction with children. Each week our CITs will be afforded the opportunity to work directly with younger campers and assist camp staff, as well as participate in field trips including the pool, athletic events, artistic programs, and much more. CITs will also experience team-building and professional development exercises with their assigned Group Leader and other senior staff.
Our CIT program has two levels divided by grade:
CITs - First Year: This level is for students who are entering their freshman year of high school (9th grade) in the fall of 2025. The cost of the program is calculated at one-half the standard fee per week.
CITs - Second Year: This level is for students who are entering their sophomore year of high school (10th grade) in the fall of 2025 and who have participated in the CIT program during the summer of 2024*. Tuition for this level is free.
*Students who have not attended WWS or who did not participate in the CIT program during the summer of 2024 can still apply.
Currently, our Second Year CIT program for sophomores is filled. We are no longer accepting applications for this program.
If you would like to apply for our First Year CIT program, please click on the link below and submit it no later than 5pm on Friday, April 18th.
Space in our CIT programs is extremely limited. Depending on the number of applicants we receive, students may or may not have to interview for the position. If interviews are necessary, they will be conducted virtually during the week of April 21st.
Students who are chosen for the program will be told on or before Friday, April 25th. Once accepted, parents/guardians will need to complete the online registration process with the assistance of the PACE Office.
If you have any questions about our CIT program, please email or call the PACE Office at pace@pthsd.net or 862-702-2040.
